The following letter sent to eBay and the seller:
Re: "Hubbard" letters for sale.
Item No. 2185903041
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2185903041&
category=14433
The letters from L. Ron Hubbard between 1973 and 1980 are almost
without a doubt NOT authentic and cannot and must not be "guaranteed
genuine."
Hubbard had a Scientology staff unit set up called the "Standing Order
Number One Unit," or" SO#1," to write precisely the kind of
letters
described in this eBay ad, and to forge Hubbard's signature on them
precisely as described in the ad.
SO#1 used exactly the Hubbard stationery shown in the picture on eBay,
and signed these letters as shown in the signature image.
During the years 1973 through 1980, Hubbard received almost no
personal correspondence, but it was almost without exception handled
by SO#1. This even included correspondence from Hubbard's family
members, his old lovers, and people who had known him from before he
invented Dianetics in 1950. Certainly the correspondence of someone
who was "an early member of the Church and personal friend" of
Hubbard
was handled by SO#1, and the letters purporting to be from Hubbard
were written by SO#1, and Hubbard's signature was forged on such
letters by SO#1.
The fact that "each Hubbard signature is in ink, of different sizes
with distinct stylistic differences one signature to another" supports
the conclusion that these are SO#1 forgeries, because that was how
SO#1 performed their forgery job.
Standing Order Number One, and the SO#1 Unit, is a very cruel fraud
that Hubbard and certain Scientologists perpetrated upon thousands of
unsuspecting people like the addresses/recipient of these SO#1
letters. Standing Order Number One stated that "All mail addressed to
me (Hubbard) shall be received by me." This "standing order"
was
an
utter lie. Hubbard was declared in 1984 in the case of Scientology v.
Armstrong, Los Angeles Supeior Court No. C 420153 to be a pathological
liar.

The judgment containing this declaration was affirmed on appeal.
http://www.gerryarmstrong.org/50grand/legal/a1/appeal/283cal.rptr.917.html
I was familiar with SO#1's function and activities throughout the
period from 1973 through 1980, and had access to the SO#1 files during
1980 and 1981 when I had the job of doing the research for Hubbard's
biography. I can competently testify to all the facts contained in
this statement if required. My history in relationship to Hubbard and
Scientology is provided in a great deal of sworn testimony on my web
site. http://www.gerryarmstrong.org/50grand/legal/index.html
I have no reason to believe that the letters from Yvonne Jentzsch or
from Dian[a] Hubbard Horwich are not authentic, but I have every
reason to believe that the letters from L. Ron Hubbard are SO#1
forgeries. The Hubbard letters should be withdrawn from sale on eBay
so as not to continue to perpetrate this fraud upon other unsuspecting
Hubbard and Scientology victims.
